Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Lampre Team Thread Hi Team Lampre
Welcome to the Tour De France Bike Challenge 2008.
In the 2008 Tour De France team Lampre has a balanced team line up set up to achieve broad success in the Tour De France. For the overall prize the team has put its faith in 2006 white jersey winner Damiano Cunego who is out to back up his Grand Tour credentials with a strong showing in this years event. For stage wins the team has Time Trial specialist Marzio Bruseghin and for road stages rider Alessandro Ballan. And with Mila on this team it will be no surprise to anyone that this teams jersey includes the colour pink!
On BT, your team line up for the challenge is: 1. ABrady42 2. carlacrews 3. cinderly 4. jrcody 5. mila 6. slaterjul 7. sluggo312 8. sparco 9. vball03mud Now you have found the team thread, introduce yourself to your team mates below with some information which could include name, goals or info on your current bike(s). Reporting for the challenge over the next three weeks will take place in three blocks matching the Tour De France racing days. The dates are as follows: Week 1: 5th – 14th July Week 2: 15th – 21 July Week 3: 22 – 27 July Your team has a tracking spreadsheet set up and active in google spreadsheet. To open the spreadsheet click on this link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pfYL7DR_dx-AXOvfXv6qNKQ&... />
To login to Google Docs: Username: btchallenge Password: challengeforum You can update the spreadsheet at any time to track your own, and your teams progress. I will be grabbing each teams results to date and posting a challenge update that includes all of the teams progress and any interesting tid bits from the various team threads. This update will be posted at the end of the each reporting week listed above. The winning team will be determined by the team with the highest percentage of goal achieved. No one can go over 100% of goal and if more than one team hits 100% then there is more than one winning team! To remind everyone to post their updates, and I recommend that you nominate a team leader to help with reminding everyone to report in each week. But the job of inspiring and motivating your team mate really does rest with each individual so don’t forget to give everyone some regular encouragement here in the team thread and through inspires on training logs. I will try to pop in regularly to see how your team is getting on. If there are any questions throughout the course of the challenge let me know, I will pop back in the next 24 hours with some additional information and rider profiles for your Tour De France team before the action kicks off on the roads of France. Happy Pedaling Cat |

Competed in 2 sprints so far, getting ready for 3rd. Lovin' it. My goal for this challenge is 8 stages/160 miles. Would love to get intros from other people of the team, since it sounds like a lot of you already know each other.

I have no idea what you're talking about... . Thanks for the sparkly Tinkerbell Beth. Sal, the Italian word of the day is a nice idea. I am glad you nominated yourself to be in charge of that. So in honor of the TdF I taught a two hour indoor cycling class yesterday and simulated all 21 stages. It was supposed to be a Fourth of July feature class but I informed them that while I'm appreciative of the whole feedom thing and all, it shouldn't be overlooked that it was TdF eve . I had a DJ and played old TdF footage while we rode. I think I heard a few profanities being slung my way during the mountain stages but they were psyched at the end. It was a blast. I'm thinking of repeating it as a regional event the last weekend of the Tour. |

Welcome to BT and to BT challenges (the challenges can get addicting and you picked a great one with which to start!). Hills are definitely your friends, even when they are kicking your boo-tay . I'm Mila (it's pronounced MY-la), and I *heart* my pretty bike. A whole bunch. I am taking a bit of a triathlon hiatus (though I might do a sprint in August just for kicks) while I focus on some big cycling goals, so right now I'm riding lots and doing some serious stabilization, balance and core strength training. My challenge goal this month is 15 stages, 375 miles. In my non-cycling life, I have three small humans that live in my house and keep me very busy. I also have an educational consulting business and work part time in the fitness industry teaching indoor cycling classes and overseeing both the indoor and outdoor cycling programs at the Georgia locations of a major health club company (I get paid to ride my bike!). In fact, I do believe that one of my outdoor ride leads is on Team Lampre. Happy pedaling, everyone!

It's a good reminder that tri tops/cycling jerseys and helmets look a lot better than "wife beaters" and cycle caps. Wait... was there something deeper in that movie? |

Expert 696 Sugar Hill, GA | Subject: RE: Lampre Team Thread I'm looking forward to this, this is my first challenge, couldn't pass this one up. I've only been doing triathlons for a little over a year now. I got started in early 2007 when I decided to do this as a way of losing weight. Never thought I'd enjoy this crazy sport, needless to say, I'm hooked. I'm also lucky enough to be one of Mila's ride leads. Outside of Tris, I have a very supportive wife who is starting to talk about doing a tri next year or maybe later this year. I also have a 4 year old who loves to swim and ride his spiderman bike while telling me he is training for a triathlon and I am a grants manager at a large non-profit in Atlanta. My legs are a bit tired from my ride yesterday so I guess that means I'm off to a good start with this challenge. |

Member 74 | Subject: RE: Lampre Team Thread Hey everyone, This is my first challenge on BT (looks like we have a couple other challenge newbies here too). I've taken some time off of triathlons -- or at least plan to for the rest of the year -- to focus on my run more. That being said, I still wanted to keep up with my swim and biking, so I thought this challenge would be a good place to start. My goal is 8 stages for a total of 7 hours. Just letting you know ahead of time that I'll be away for the last week of the challenge, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! |

My goal is for 12 stages @ 30 minutes / stage. I finished my first stage yesterday. Outside of tri-ing, I like to play tennis, volleyball, and I'm getting married in October. |
