Last year I did my pre-race carb dinner Saturday night at the Old Spachetti Factory.  I was by myself so figured it'd be easy to get a table...it was not.  Had to wait over an hour to be seated.

So I called to see if they take reservations but they do not....unless it's for a table of 15 or more.  They do have call-ahead seating which puts you on the waiting list.  You can only do this 1 hr ahead of time though.

I am hoping the kitchen-ette in my hotel room is decent enough that I can make some pasta the night before there.

So much easier than eating out!

I went here after the race. It wasn't too crowded, but it took absolutely forever to get service. I was irritated because I wanted to head back to the finish. I still made it back, but it was just frustrating. Maybe they were just worn out from the rush of people on race eve.

I like to eat a BIG breakfast, medium lunch and small dinner the day before a big race. Would anyone be up for meeting for lunch at the Factory?

I'm game for any time of the day. Also I hope most of you all know (My guess would be most triathletes know this but figured Id put it out there) it takes a couple days for your muscles to be completely saturated in carbohydrates. I usually buy a loaf of bread from the Atlanta Bread company and eat it for two days, then also eat alot of potatoes. Not even a week left till taper time.. word!

Hmmm maybe lunch would be better. Let me know folks and Ill be there.

Are you stealing prep-tips from my coach?  That's the same structure he gives me for the day before the race.  I actually eat my big meal on Friday night (relatively early), then have something small for dinner on Saturday night (early).

Since it worked well for IMMoo, I'm going with Panera on Saturday night for a salad/sandwich and leave with an extra sandwich for in the morning.

I might be able to make the luch too but I'm not sure yet.  Saturday we going to the Louisville Slugger plant tour and maybe to the Churchill Downs musuem.  Also will do a practice swim Saturday morning and there is at least one Athlete's briefing and of course bike check-in.  Anyway, Saturday is gonna be a busy day.

My Sat. looks like: Big birthday breakfast for my 9 (soon to be) year old, bike check in at noon, med. sized lunch, send the family out to a movie, lay in bed & rest for the rest of the day, cook a light dinner (chicken breast, white rice & soy sauce - no veggies) & go to bed! Pretty laid back!
No Sat. group plans for me but I will be going solo for the Fri. banquet so I would love to meet up (in our cool shirts) then. Last year we met on the bottom floor off to the right (the dinner is upstairs) of the escelators.
