Hey there. I've fallen about 10 pounds short with my end of tri season goal weight.
I've made progress this year as I'm down a few pounds but need that last little kick in the behind to get me over the hump and out of the Clydesdale division.

I know four weeks is short and it might not be for everyone but I like the idea of being 10# lighter in a months time so if you are up for a jolt to the system and need some support, please join. The more challengers, the easy it will be for all that join.

Generally, people feel more accountable when there are more people to report to.
The set-up will be quite informal. I figure that we'll post individually starting Sunday with your starting weight and then post each week or whenever you feel like it.

We'll be done before the first weekend of football. It'll be here before you know it.
Lets stop putting that 10# off and take this challenge...

I'm going to start tomorrow but I figure between today and Monday. Hopefully, I'll complete the challenge and can celebrate on Sunday, 7/7, which happens to be the Eagles season opener.

So basically starting Sunday or Monday and running till the 7th or 8th of September.

10 in 4 would be very challenging, but I'm in.

I'm in the middle of a 12 week personal challenge to finally lose those last 10-15 pounds, but vacation caused a disheartening setback to my progress. Something about Mom's home cooking, comfort food and fast food travelling. I fell off the wagon hard!

I'm training for my first Sprint on 9/14, so will be eating clean and pushing the workouts for the next 4 weeks, 10 pounds less would really help and get me back on track with my original goal.

Excellent, I am bingeing a bit today and tomorrow and weighing in on Monday. Technically my challenge will 26 days but I'm still focused on getting to the 10#s.

I'll weigh in tommorow night and go through 9/7.

so 2.5 lbs a week x 3500 calories per pound = 1250 calories down per day.  Rough work Frown

 Good luck people!

Count me in.. I'd love to be 10 lbs lighter for my 'A' race on Sept 14.

I'll weigh in Monday morning and consider that my start day.

When you put it that ways its scary. I'm up for the challenge. It can be done b/c I have about 25 pounds to lose. The only thing that will stop me is me.
If I keep my calories around 2k and workout 6 hours a week, it'll happen, will be tough though.

Weigh in will be tomorrow for me as I've binged a bit today but still managed a workout.

I had to weigh in on my crappy scale in the bathroom. Came in at 206 which is depressing considering I was 200 on that scale about one month ago.

This couldn't have come at a better time.

I expect good results next week people.

Good Luck.

217.4

I was 205 last September and have pretty much gained 1lb each month since.  Maybe I can end Sept 08' the same weight last year!

Depends how much you have to lose.  If you are 12% BF already, then it is pretty impossible.

I'm in. I weighed in at 234.

I am running first tri on Sep 21 and have lost 25 lbs so far.  I have been in a holding pattern lately and perhaps this will help me bust through.

I am not 12% body fat, although I have never had my body fat measure taken, I can just look down and see I am not 12%. I think that I could do it, close to 10 anyway. Anyone have any suggestions for post work fuelling that is low cal. I tend to get ravenous after racing and for the rest of the day. I am going to up my protein intake and try having an Endurox shake just after.

Alright, I'm glad we have a few more challengers. The more people the more motivated we'll all be to stick with it.
I'm equating this to doing a marathon at the end of an ironman. I often hear to take it one mile at a time for 26.2 times.
Well dieting and putting numerous days together is always tough for me so I'm going to try and adapt that model of 26 one mile runs or one day of consistent good nutrition and exercise but do it for 26 times.
My end date for this challenge will be September 6th, which is my next tri, so I have technicially 26 days to complete the challenge.
I figure that if I ever expect to complete a marathon, I should be able to suck it up and put together 26 days of eating well and consistent training.
I'm feeling good after two days and looking forward to tackling the remaining 24 days.
Thanks to all for joining and keep at it.
Four weeks will be here before you know it.

I feel that I'm doing well also.  I'm focusing on eating healthy foods and drinking lots of water.  I also want to cut out coffee and diet coke from my diet and haven't had either since sunday.

Good luck everyone.

Ate pretty good for two days and amazingly I am down to 213.4 already. Have a big rest of the week planned as far as workouts so hopefully can keep it up!

That is good advice about the diet vs. triathlon. If you are going to race then yes, you should be able to suck it up (the dieting) in the same way as you do race. I will take that attitude with me. I have an Xterra on Oct. 26th and its not easy, but I will do it. I will take that attitude with me in the next 4 weeks and get these 10lbs off! Thanks support team!

I cut Diet Coke out of my diet, only having it a couple of times a year, try drikink Pellegrino instead, it has the carvbination. It is better then Perrier and other bottled waters. You can even add a little OJ or Cranberry. Costco has it by the case. It hasnt got the caffeine, but its good.

As far as cutting out coffee...just start drinking 1/2 regular and 1/2 Decaf....coffee isnt neccessarily bad for you by the way! Just too much is!

I never used to drink coke but the last few months I've been craving it.  Usually have one on work days, haven't had any in a week and don't miss it.  As for coffee... we've only drank decaf at home the past several years but I tend to drink real coffee at work....well if I could just retire I'd be fine as I do all the bad stuff at work.  I do react badly to caffeine so I'm better off without it.

I've been logging my nutrition for a couple days - no wonder I don't lose weight, I eat a lot ! And this is being careful with what I'm eating I'm over 2000calories/day.  I need to up the carbs and protein a bit and cut the fat down a bit as well as the total calories.
