We have had some "hot" weather in Denver, but y'all are just HOT.  That being said, is it even worth brining some workout gear?  Are there any Masters groups, open pools or open water swim areas near Phoenix that I can get into around 6am or so in time to head to the office?  Thanks in advance.

Let us know where in Phoenix and I'm sure we can direct you.

If you're going to run at all, go VERY early

Hey Fitzy,

More specifically--I17 and Happy Valley.

I did find an indoor pool at the 24 hour off of Bell.  Other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ocky - I work a couple of miles south of where you're staying (23rd and Rose Garden), and sometimes get out for a short (30-40 minute) run during the day.  If that may work with your schedule sometime this week, send me a PM.  Deer Valley Community pool is located at 19th Ave and Beardsley (by the 101).  I have never swum there, but it is open from 9am to 9pm during the week if the 24 Hr on Bell doesn't work out.

There's a Bally's south of where you'll be also.

The City of Phoenix pools are closed (go figure).

Thanks for the help.

Met a cool guy from First Wave Tri Club who filled me in on some great info.  Found a Masters Swim Group at the Deer Valley Pool, as well as a great trail running area off of the 101 and 59th ave.  (the "warm" water of the outdoor pool was "nice..."

I think it was called Dakota Point???  Kinda like Colorado singletrack, with the loose rock and switchbacks.  Other than the heat (103) it was fun.

Thanks again.  I look forward to doing it again on my next trip.
