next month i was planning on doing another indoor tri. its up in duluth, about 3 hours away. haven't registered yet though. anyway, the friday night before the tri, they might be giants are doing a free kids concert down here. husband and kids are all huge fans of tmbg. the concert is at 7pm, which means there's no way we could do that, and drive to duluth so that we all get a good nights sleep so i can do the tri first thing in the morning. i'll probably check into the wave times, and see if i can get an afternoon slot. if so, we could drive up first thing in the morning and do both the race and the concert. if i can't get a late start, it'll be a pickle!

I voted for "They Might be Giants." I know that they are more local to you, so you might get a chance to see them - but they don't make their way out here much anymore. How can you deprive your children of hearing "Ana Ng" or "Don't Start" live? (Sorry to date my TMBG discography)

If you are lucky.....they might sing the theme song to The Higgley Town Heros. I get to wake up to that lovely tune every morning.

Go see em, enjoy the time with your family, there are many other tri's out there to sign up for!

What are you doing taking a survey?  Keep "Malcom in the Middle" in mind: "You're not the boss of me now and your not that big!"  Do what you want!  (BTW, I voted for the concert, too. ;-) )

I say family comes first where this is "another" indoor tri and kids and hubby all love They Might be Giants.  You're the best judge, but as a mom you also know the kids grow up fast and that these opportunities will not last forever.

still not sure if i can do both, but if i can't, its pretty obvious that we'll be seeing the giants. since its an indoor tri, the start times go almost all day, so hopefully i can get a late start and we can still go up to duluth. thanks for all the feedback! goof to know there are some tmbg fans out there! (and i should have clarified that i love them too, its just that my hubby has been a fan forever, and the kids really love 'no').
