Subject: Good price?
I know nothing about bikes except that I think I want one. Found this one, and wondering if it is a good price. Please don't steal it from me if it is, k?

Specialized 12 speed Sport-Tour with a Custom Gage Light weight
Chrome-moly double butted frame, and High-tension stays.

This bike has a 34" Stand over height (From ground to Top Tube).

Great for a person 5' 10" to 6' 4".

This bike was purchased new (a few years back) and barley used (Maybe
twice), always stored indoors.

Excellent Shiny Fire Engine Red paint with White Accents - looks very
nice - it`s a must see in person the pictures do not do it justice.

Shimano 105 Derailers and Power Shifters, Shimano PD 1050 Pedals,
Wolber GTX 700 wheels with sealed bearing Shimano 105 Hubs, Shimano
105 Cranks with Bio Pace Chain wheels, Aluminum seat post with a White
Leather San Marco Rolls Seat, Specialized Forged aluminum Neck with
Light weight Aluminum Handlebars, Shimano 105 Forged Center pull
caliper type brakes, Quick release front and rear wheel for easy
transporting and storage all original decals in place.

This Bike Looks Great, Rides Great, and Stops Great!

Great Bike for Training, Triathlons, or a Fast Commuter bicycle - very
light, and rides very nice.

$400

I don't think it's very good...I managed to get pretty much the same bike for $160. It was a Japanese lugged steel frame, full older style 105 (and by full, I mean the works. Hubs, brake calipers, brake levers, pedals, along with biopace crankset as well!, FD and RD, etc.) and Nitto stem and bars (excellent quality stem/bars) in pretty damn good nick. I'd try for $250 - $300.

Yeah...$25 is about as high as you should go. You can get a new road bike for $400 at bikesdirect.com.

Also, no way that bike fits anyone below 6'2"--that's a big bike.

Carp, thanks. I was gonna offer $300 if it fits. Now I'm not sure it's worth the gas out to look at it. I'm looking for a beginner bike, but I want to get as much quality as I can, which is why I'm looking used. I don't know why, but I simply cannot hold bike info in my head, so trying to learn about it is proving difficult. Show me a horse and I'll tell you exactly what it is worth and why. *sigh*

Something fishy about the posting.  They say they bought it new a few years ago but that bike is alot more than a few years old.  No way it is worth anywhere near $400.

14 speed is pretty old.  You can get alot more bike for $400 and even some new ones.
