HELLO! Does anyone know any Connecticut retailers of tri-suits or seperates? I know you can order anything online, but I would like to be able to try some on! Any help is appreciated. JenniSmile

Where in CT are you located...if in central CT you are probably SOL as we do not have any tri shops (this includes Pig Iron).

REI has some tri clothes (or they did last time I was there) but as fall approaches it will be harder to find stuff in stores.  You're better off ordering online, sorry.

Mystic cycle has some tri stuff.  Not much but if you are in SE CT, it's worth a look.  I wouldn't make a special trip as they don't have a ton.

I have been to Target Training a bunch of times as it is near my office.  They have a quality, although somewhat limited, selection.  (Note, the people who work there have the personalities of wet cardboard and are about as helpful, so you sort of have to cross-examine them.

Cappy, I think you are just being picky.  Last time I went in there, they had a tri bike (no, wait, that was just a picture of a tri bike), a wetsuit and an aerobar...and I almost got somebody to wait on me...almost.

You could always send them to your favorite bike shop in Rocky Hill...now they are the Triathlon experts

Thanks to everyone for responding to me- My first triathlon is in Sept. so it's all new to me. I appreciate the advice! I'm in Northern CT, close to MA, but I certainly don't mind traveling to get to shops. Thanks again Laughing

You may want to go to the MA forum and ask there as they have a few Tri Shops up there, although I'm not sure of the location/details.

Threads and Treads in Greenwich, CT has suits in stock.
Bethel Cycle (nr Danbury) may have suits - call them to be sure, they have a strong tri club so stock tri products too. # is on website at bethelcycle.com
SBR in New York City often has wetsuit testing days in their Endless Pool and they have a good stock. sbrshop.com
Not sure about Hartford area or up near MA.

Pedal Power in Middletown might be an option - if anything, their customer service is super, at the least, give them a call & they might be able to point you in the right direction.  Pigiron only had wetsuits last I was there, I wasn't real thrilled with them....Target Training - never been to their store but glad someone mentioned their cs skills are lacking, my bf inquired with them about a job...good to know!  In all honesty, trisports.com has phenomenal customer service & I wouldn't hesitate to shop with them, they're great with returns & their site just goes on and on...I second the notion of looking up Boston way...the multi-sport expo back in the spring had a good representation of local shops with a tri focus.  Share the wealth if you hit the jackpot!

I know this won't be the answer you're looking for, but your best bet is to buy several different brands/sizes from a big internet firm (tribuys.com, all3sports, trisports, etc.) and try a couple on, then send the rest back.

As many have mentioned on this thread, there is no truly legitimate tri shop (with appropriate inventory levels) to get accomplished what you are looking to do.

Not sure if you are interested in the Danskin line, but the Danskin outlet in Westbrook had some tri suits in stock.  They were pretty cheap too, I ended up getting a top for 40% off.  It is current season stuff - REI carries the same top for retail.
