Subject: Internal breakdown of brake/shifter lever

Anyone have a mechanical drawing of the internals of a brake/shifter lever?  Or a link to it?

I'm reassembling an old bike for sale and the right hand shifter will shift but not stay in place.  Seems like the rachet inside is not catching.

I assume you mean STI Shimano? I think you can find one (exploded diagram) on-line, but basically, malfunctioning shifters are disposable and can't be rebuilt. Not for the faint of heart and I doubt you can find replacement parts like ratchets, etc. Good luck w/ it.

I found a website with exploded view of many shimano shifters.  Useful/dangerous stuff.  Here's the link.
