Subject: RE: Last 2 weeks of taperMy coach cuts my training in half each week of taper. Last week (final week before taper) was 1000+ minutes. This week is 500 minutes. Next week, I'm looking at ~300 minutes. The intensity of the workouts should remain the same, but the durations just get less and less. His goal for me is to rest my body and let it heal. Take some NSAIDs each day. Stretch/foam-roller once a day and focus on any sore spots. Last week before IM, he'll want me to focus on my nutrition with lots of good carbs (fruits, etc) to load up the stores for race day.
