I had previously been fitted with Eric from Principle Fitness, but was very dissatisfied with my experience at Bonzai... enough that I didn't buy a bike from them despite the $200 credit I had from my bike fit with Principle Fitness (in Reston, VA).

Thinking about buying my P2C from Bike Doctor in Severna Park because they are very local to me (I like having a local place where I can swing in and get an adjustment for free), and they now have one of the two certified FIST fitters in the state.  Anyone have any opinions/stories to share?

I understand that being FIST certified is not the be-all end-all of bike fitting, and assume that there is a pretty steep learning curve after being certified... and that Bike Doctor probably doesn't do very much in sales to triathletes... though I think the Severna Park and Annapolis locations are trying to raise their image to more of a competitive cycling thing than a family bike shop.

Anyway - just rambling hear and looking for an endorsement or a cautionary tale.

My boyfriend went to the Annapolis Bike Doctor to get a new bike, and I wasn't particularly impressed. Our salesman was more of a mountain biker, and they didn't have many options/sizes. He found a bike he liked, so we went to the Kent Island location because they had it in his size. That salesman tried to talk him into a different size, despite my boyfriend telling him that he was comfortable on the larger bike.

I worked at Pete's Cycle in SP back in the day.

The "owner" of Bike Doctor got fired from Pete's for reasons not made public.  He opened the shop in SP and Annapolis.  Struggled for years to try and keep up with us at Pete's.  Then when Pete's closed down it's SP store becuase they wanted to convert it over to all motorcycles - even though we had one of the top road clientelle in Anne Arundel Cty (causing me to be displaced and having to look somewhere else for a shop to work) they suddenly start touting that they ran us out of business and are the best game in town. Undecided  I cannot remember the amount of people that came to us after talking with them and being amazed at the service and knowledge we gave to them.

I have always disliked them and wouldn't go there unless I was stranded on the side of the road and they were the only place that could help.

But I'm biased .........
