For those of you that have done a reverse sprint, any thoughts or tips?  I am trying to kind of visualize what this will look like....

Ummm.....visualise Run-Bike-Swim, but in reverse.  Haha!!

Well, you all line up and take off for the run.  Coming into T1, you already have your socks and sun glasses on, so off with the run shoes, on with the bike shoes, snap on your helmet, grab your bike and go!! Coming into T2, off with the helmet, glasses, shoes, and socks (forgot those once) grab your swim cap and goggles and put them on as you are running to the pool.  Jump in the pool feet first, push off and go!!!  Down and back in each lane.  When you get to the end of your down and back, push off and go UNDER the lane line.  Don't bob your head under the line clinging to the side and once you get there, push off. Do it from the former lane, pushing off diagonally so you end up in the new lane starting down your next down and back.  On the last lane you are supposed to touch the far wall before getting out, up the cement steps through the finish line feet away.  That's pretty much it.

Thanks, I know it's obvious but I usually wear extra layers (my bad) so I kind of have to think through this. I guess I have to suck it up and run/bike just in the tri suit to keep it simple or I will be the one jumping in the pool with clothes on.

Those are greats swim tips, thanks!

Yes...it's just a sprint.  So no need for bike shorts or bike jersey or extra crap.  No time to deal with all that!!!

This will be my first tri. I shave my head, so I have never owned a swim cap. Is it required by the rules?

It totally depends on the race I think.  I am guessing since this one is in waves that we will have caps to wear.

Yep. No caps.  I just have to wear one cuz of my hair, and somehow without it I get water in my goggles.

Sounds like you could shave some T2 time with a little shave of the head Tanya

How bout it?

I have long hair but I can not wear a swim cap. I have a hot dog package on the back of my neck and all the caps just slip off.

I would not have guessed that just by actually registering for an event would make me nervous.  However, it has, and I am nervous as a prostitute in church.

No escaping now though, I am commited to what I pay for.

You're as nervous as you are when you're in church?

Weird!

I did the reverse last year, didnt like it. You do not need a cap. It is like hearding cattle through the lanes in the pool. I think I walked for a minute it got so packed in the pool.

I heard this year they are starting the race (run) in waves in an attempt to thin out the swim.

I did a reverse brick 5k/14mile this morning. It's a lot easier than the regular brick. ...so that's good.

Hopefully staggering the start will help with the BIG log-jam at the swim.  Just in case it doesn't, I would add water-running to my training.

Okay,

I have made up my mind. I am doing this race. They even have awards for clydsdales, which i definitely am.

One of the other Brothers Grim is in this one also. We are in the same age group and we are both clydsdales. Should be interesting?

Now I wish that I hadn't waited to order my ESCKTC swag...I suck, sorry team.
