Thinking about doing this one as a final for the season.   Anyone doing it or know much about it?   Wondering if it is championship chip timed.

I'm scheduled for the sprint. From what I know it's a fast and flat course with the swim in the lake. Not sure about the timeing.

Ok I see it does have an oly, if anyone would be willing to help me with transportation ill contribute gas money and food money if needed.  So if your in the st pete/ treasure island area and wouldnt mind taking me up there we could discuss a possible test run prior to the race.  Im interested in the Oly, please let me know if your interested in taking an athlete with a very unreliable car.  lol. And just for refrence my average finish time is around 2:10-15 I can drive to your house then we could go up there.

Last year the swim was in a retention pond.  But with all the rain they say it should be in the lake this year.  Timing is done by chip.  Course is flat and fast.  Race is a FL Collegiate race so I will be there with TriGators again.

I live 1.3 miles from the race so I can't see driving to St Pete to provide shuttle service and having you drive to mi casa doesn't make sense either. I can offer post race refreshments.

I did the race last year, and the swim was in a rentention pond. It wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds, but standing around before hand was tricky as it was full of fire ant mounds. And the swim was a time trial start with each age group lining up in a big long line and going off every 5 seconds or so. You do 2 loops in the pond, exiting the water between loops.

The bike was very flat and very fast(and short) last year. The run was fast also. A lot of the bike was done on the parkway and quite a bit of the run was on a paved path.

Overall a well run race which I would gladly do again.

I did the sprint last year and I am planning on doing the oly this year.
Was a great race, very well organized, and I had a great time.
As mentioned above, watch out for the ants. The swim was very fast b/c there was no ocean waves or current and little traffic due to the staggered start.
I can't wait to ride the new Cervelo on SR 54 b/c I drive this road every day on the way to work.

I like Longleaf. I have done the sprint and the oly. The time trial start is annoying, but the bike goes out onto the trail through JB Starkey and is wicked fast. The run in on a big sidewalk and there is no shade, but I still like it.

What does time trial start mean?

Can I draft in this race?

I'll send what I have now. I'm just doing the sprint. I live five minutes from the race so this will be an easy one.
