Subject: Need a mental boost... So I'm starting taper for my first HIM coming up Sept. 7th....and I'm really feeling the past weeks of training. Could you more experienced IMers and HIMers cue me into how taper is supposed to feel for these longer races? Today all I did was a 4 mile run (with speed drills mixed in ), and I'm feeling exhausted--like I could sleep for a good 4 hours. Is this type of fatique normal for the frist week of your taper leading to a big event?
I may just be freaking out a little since it's my first longer race...but i sure could use a mental boost that these types of things are ok...!!!
