I have an Explorer with a rear window that flips up.  Let me talk to the Mrs. to determine what her plans are after we volunteer and it may be an option.

They are going to be giving us latex gloves for the finisher grabbing.  This is good.  I was hoping for a hazmat suit.

I don't, unfortunately, have an SUV with a flip up window. I do have a minivan. Is it possible to rig a minivan such that you can film out of the back of that?

I'm still trying to solidify my plan for the day, but I think I might be able to help out.

Not really. Not unless the minivan has a rear window that can either slide down or flip open sufficiently to allow me to stick a rather large camera out.

All right, so you're still looking for a vehicle then, but I'm happy to drive you around in it.

my family and friends will be there to watch and cheer and im sure my dad will have his camera along to film. if youve got an extra camera you could give one to my friend ben who will be there and he can shoot too.

Hey Scoob, I sent you an inspire and a PM.  I talked to Danielle and we are going to be able to donate the Explorer.

Would my convertable porsche assist you in your endeavors?

First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who has volunteered their time for this. It would not be possible without you and I really appreciate so many folks coming forward to volunteer-- I'm sure mutri, tripletmom01 and djdavey second that.

PeterAK has graciously agreed to be my #2 on race day and we are meeting next week to lay out a detailed plan, including assigning specific people specific roles and locations along the course.

At this point, I believe the plan will include having Peter stick around the Transition area with one top-quality camera and me out on the course in Sgoehner's Explorer (Deanna, still up for driving?) .
Pete and I are going to discuss the best locations to station others with cameras. Right now, I believe we have three other cameras (Mr. Cowdy, AJ, my extra camera) in addition to the ones Peter and I will be using. It would be great if we could still wrangle up a few more.

Yep, I'm still up for driving. Just tell me where and when to be. Have you gotten special permission to be on the course with a vehicle, or are you sticking to the not-closed roads?
