Does anyone know any tracks around Tempe that have public access? Thanks!

ASU has a track outside the Student Rec center. I am not sure what the length is but I know it is posted. You can park and walk right to it. And you don't have to be a studnet.

Cool, thanks... I just looked it up and it's kind of a weird length! It's 750 yds (0.43 mi). It is pretty close to my house, though. The Google satellite map makes it looks like dirt rather than an actual track surface.

It is dirt. Go figure ASU charges an arm and legg but they have a dirt track. I live down the street. Let me know when you will be there. I might come out and run wth you. I am slow but we can chat for the few seconds each lap wen you pass me. LOL.

What about the track at Tempe High?  When I worked there it was open during non school hours.

Oh, Tempe High is close to my house too. Maybe I'll try that and hopefully it won't look like I'm trying to break in or something.

Cody, I am always down for running. I run pretty darn slow too if you want to run at the track or around Tempe Town Lake. I live in downtown Tempe.

MCC just over the border in Mesa. Even when the gates are closed people jump over the fence.

I live in downtown Tempe as well. I was unsure about Tempe High. I don't want to get busted for breaking and entering. I will drop you a line when I am running. I know I will be running Thursday night around Tempe Town Lake. Aprox 7pm ish

Hey brother, I'm down for a run on thursday evening. I fat boy stroll around the lake.

Hey maybe I should put that on my match.com profile. Think it will help me get a date. Hell at my current dating rate, it sure couldn't hurt. I must have garlic around my neck.

Public school, which your taxes pay for. You practically own the place. I ALWAYS hop the fence at the school by my house, along with others I see at the track, and I have never had a problem. I don't think it is an issue as it is public grounds.

I agree. Public schools are the way to go. A lot of them keep their tracks open pretty late and have a good amount of locals from the neighborhood running/walking on them.

Unless it's during school hours.  Most schools here have "closed" campus now for the safety of the students.  So they will kick you off during school hours if they catch you.  Just sayin.....

absolutely true! Which is a good thing due to all the cho mo's out there. You are usually good after 3:30. Although I don't like to do it, I have ran during the schools sports practice. (too many people watching, I hate pressure)

I can still pass for a high school student! Sounds like hopping the fence at Tempe High is the way to go!

Well I can not pass for a high school student but I can pass for a High School Teacher. Let me know when you are running there and I might come hang with you.

For sure! I might be up for running around Tempe Town Lake tomorrow night, depending on the weather (I'll basically run in any sort of weather as long as there's no lightning... running next to water with lightning = bad).

I have a phobia of lightning so I don't leave the house in it if I don't have too.
