I don't need a wetsuit right away (first race will be next spring), but am considering taking advantage of end of season sales or the xterra coupon to grab a wetsuit. I tried on a Zoot wetsuit at a triathlon 101 type workshop and wasn't sure it fit well. (The rep there was kind of clueless, as she told me her height chart only went down to 5'6" and she first tried to cram me into a small, before trying a medium).

Are there other women out there who are short (5'3"), have long legs, a very short torso, big-ish hips (but no butt), and D cups weighing in at about 138lbs that can recommend a wetsuit that has worked for them? The xterra suits seem to have very specific sizing specifications that would indicate I could get one to fit, but I wanted to know what other options are. Thanks!

I owned three Promotions wetsuits that do fit curvy women well until I bought a two peice DeSoto wetsuit this summer that totally rocks and I love. I lost weight so needed smaller sizes.

Tri-Sports has a good on line wetsuit fit guide where you enter your information and they recommend a wetsuit. Issue is often that if you are short most wetsuit's size guide don't work. I often call tri-sports to get their input on clothing as they know fit well of all the merchandise they sell.

Best thing is to go to a shop you can try them on and see what works best for you.

Pictures would still be appreciated helpful.

Zoot, Ironman, 2XU, Desoto, Blue-seventy, Promotion, and Orca are some of the more popular brands.  Some of them offer women's specific suits in combinations of S/M/L/XL and short/regular/tall.  Ideally, you can find the most promising size at a local retailer so you can try it on.  A tri-wetsuit will be snug (very snug) and may take 10 minutes or more to put on, so don't give up after 3 minutes of struggle.  Hopefully, the salesperson will know what they're doing to help you.

I got my suit from Fit 2 Race. They have wonderful customer service. You can give them a call and let them know your body type and they'll send out to your suit. Mine fit perfectly. But I sadly lack the D cup "problem".

X2 on Fit2Race. I'm also a D (although at 6', 150 I don't have many curves other than the chest!)

Keep in mind that the wetsuit should be very snug (and despite what the guys here may say, those D's will only be creating drag.)

Also, I believe F2R will rent you a wetsuit and if you like it toucan then buy it. And I think they had closeout deals on their website. Good luck!

I have hips/thighs that are and have always been 'solid' I wore my first wetsuit this season - promotion. They were super helpful over the phone with questions on sizing and it really was more about chest size and height vs. weight. The guy was right even though I thought I'd need a larger size. It was snugger on my hips/thighs but loosened up in the H2O. I probably could have used some extra 'cuppage' in the chest area (I'm an A) but my shoulders seemed to fill out the top where my boobs lacked

I'm a similar build (5'2", about 130 lbs, C cup) and my Zoot fits great (I think it is a Medium). Everything kinda smashes down anyway. A little long in the leg but that doesn't sound like it would be a problem for you.
