This is the same as the ITPMan triathlon, right?

I will be registering shortly as part of a relay team. It has a 5 mile run instead of a usual 3.1 mile run.

LOL! 100 dollars for a sprint! You could run a marathon for that price!

Welcome to FF county.  I am surprised they would even allow streets to be shut down for a tri.  (Watch out for 4' 11" inch 95 pound women driving tanks (I mean SUVs) while taking their kids, nanny, life coach, etc. to the gym, while talking on a cell phone, doing her nails and drinking a mocachino and not signaling.)  Oh and YES its expensive, but the permit for the race is probably a fortune

haha, i'm traveling up from MD to do the race with a friend, from what i hear sounds like it should be an interesting time.   i suppose dodging mindless drivers will make it that much more challenging.  what is weed beach like?  from the name it doesn't sound like the cleanest water... any idea what the temps are like up there?

I am in Norwalk, the next town up the coast, i can tell you as of right now the Water is just below bath temp, i swim regularly with no wetsuit. That being said, in three weeks the temp could drop 10 degrees, maybe more as the weather here is supposed to cool off for the next week or so. I would say comfortably cool in September. I am going to see how i feel this weekend, i f i don't hurt too bad from the sprint i did yesterday, i may sign up for it, i also have one on the 21st. Darien is like 10 mins from my house, so it is a short drive.

why are you traveling from MD, where you have nice water, to Long Island Sound to swim?  I am a life long New Haven area  resident and love CT, but LIS is gross and the closer you get to NYC, the grosser it gets.  Enjoy the race but watch out for garbage, nasty sea weed, oil, medical waste and steriodal jellies.  I'll wave [sorry for the pun] to you all from Martha's Vineyard

Seriously, Darien is a beautiful town.  Check out Greenwich while your there as it is a kick (there are 2 bentley dealerships on the same street) with some grrat resturants and people watching.  Or come up to New Haven and have the best pizza in the world at Sally's.  Have a great time in CT, good luck in teh race.

Anyone doing this race and anyone know how the jellyfish are (anyone race TriFtiness Fairfield and can give feedback).
I am thinking of adding this race - I hate paying $100 but it's tax deductible, bike course is 95% of my lunchtime ride and it's fairly local to me - seems like all the other races this w/e are sold out (Duxbury, Buzzards etc).

I was half considering Duxbury until I realized it was sold out. So I am half considering this. I just raced a HIM this past weekend. Not sure if I want to drive to FF county.
