Subject: How do you keep track of your 'swim golf' scores?

I have enough trouble keeping track of my laps but how do you remember all the swim golf scores?  Do you write it down on something?  A small white board maybe?  I'd  like to log all the numbers but I'm sure  I won't remember them.

On Monday my scheduled workout includes   "WU: 200 easy. Then 'swim golf' = 6 x 50 on 15" rest & count strokes. What combination of time and strokes gives you the lowest 'score?' (Ex: 43 strokes + 45" = 88).

MS: Swim a moderate effort using the same stroke count in WU set. 5 x 100 (10" moderate. 4 x 50 kick (20" moderate
."

So how do you keep track of all the numbers until you can log the workout?

I can remember the stroke count for up to 10 or 12, and then add them later to the times I get from my timex watch....

That would be really hard to track in your head.  I would just keep a pen and pad (maybe a binder you can close) at the end of the lane and write it down when you finish.

15 seconds should be enough time to jot that down.

I'm thinking regular pen and paper wouldn't work combined with wet hands/water.

I cheat on the rest intervals. I'll lap my watch to record the time, then use the number of strokes as my rest lap time.

Counting your strokes can be a good drill, but I don't know if I understand the importance of making that the focus of your workout.  I used to swim year round and we would occassionally count our strokes.  Our coach would give us a goal for how many strokes and with each 50 we would try to be on track.  But it was just a drill that we would do... not the main focus of our swimming.

There should be someone in a red shirt just sitting in a chair near the pool. Grab them and have them count for you. They're obviously not busy doing anything else, and for some reason they're at almost every pool I go to!
