A little slow at work and was reviewing the splits a little closer from my last OLY.   The run course was 2 loops of the 5K course.  What is the odds that these folks only did one loop?  Glad they weren't in my division

On a serious note, how does someone get so confused as to run only 1/2 the course?

Wow.  The first place lady in each of those divisions broke the women's world record in the stand alone mile.  On a road course, with 2 other miles, after biking and swimming?  Impressive.  The man, however, didn't even break the men's record for the stand alone mile.  Slug.

Not sure about the racers, but there really should be volunteers out there yelling at them to make sure they know that it's a two-lap course. People shouldn't really be able to use ignorance as a reason for that.

I consistently run 4:05 minute miles. I don't see the problem?

That first one, no way. The others are possible, but not probable.

The world record for a 10K(male) is 26:17 .

It's impossible that a female 50-54 ran in 25:20.

I agree 100%. However, shouldn't the RD look at this and see the same thing we do? Those results should have never been posted. One of the first triathlons I ever did had a 2 loop run and I honestly missed the second loop and went thru finish line. The RD obviously figured it out because my "results" were never posted.

I'd like "DQ'd for Ignorance" for $200, Alex.

Last year I did a 10k-40k-5k duathlon.

The pro marathoner who was first overall ran the 10k in 30:58.

I waved as he lapped me on the two-loop run course.

Wow, crazy.  I mean how do you mess that up?  3.1 miles feels WAY different than 6.2.

What I find interesting is that three of the 4 didn't even hit the podium.
