Subject: Questions about MCM logistics

I know there are a lot of BTers out there who have done the Marine Corps Marathon, so I'm hoping someone can answer this.

According to their website, it says you have to maintain a 14 min/mile pace to beat the bridge at mile 20.  But, the race starts at 8:00 and the bridge cutoff is 1:45.  Even if I don't get to the starting line until 8:45, I'd still have 5 hours and that's more like 15:00 min/mile.

How long does it take to get up to the starting line?  I know it's a big race.  Do my calculations seem correct or should I go with their posted pace?

Thanks!

Last year I ran with the 5:30 pace group (about 4/5 of the way back) and we crossed the start line at 8:20.
