No flats, but you just never know when they're going to hit. Sounds like you had a rough mechanical day! My only delay was my own stupid move starting the bike... didn't pay attention and managed to start the bike with a crash

I hit that bridge where the water bottles were everywhere, around 40-45 miles in. Stopped, saw it was leaking and a bit low but not flat yet and got back on to ride. Maybe not my best idea as it probably cost me time in the long run, but I suck at changing tires. I guess that's what I'll work on this winter

two flats (front and back).  Althought, I didn't flat during the race.  They are due to the travels from the race site to my car.  Didn't lose any time as of yet because they are still flat.  lol.  I plan to practice changing them in the next few days.

No flats or any other mechanical issues.  Came across one crash just after it happened, though.    I could see plenty of road rash on the shoulders, but I think the guy was OK.  We all made sure help was on the way for him.

It did seem like there were a lot of flats out there.  What's up?  The road surface? Stickers from transition?  I survived unscathed, but that one unmarked bridge bump scared the hell outta me and the marked-almost-too-late bump was a near crash with the other dude swerving out of the way.

I saw quite a few flats out there too but came through with no problems.

A lot of the road rash were from accidents on some of those sharp turns.  We need to all LISTEN when there is a volunteer there telling us to slow down.  I'm usually ultra conservative and I still came around one corner a little too fast.  I agree there were some bumps in bridges and shadows that needed better marking.

Remember even in a race it's each rider's responsibility to be alert and know the course.

Be safe out there!

Lots and lots of people on the side of the road.  I actually saw 1 entire rear hydration set, cages and all on the first hill, and then thru the course of the ride, 2 more bottle cages on the ground.  I'll bet I saw 50 flats, 100 poofies, and hundreds of bottles launched, and 2 people getting medical.
Thankfully, no issues for me, other than throwing the chain on the first short steep climb.

I did see a lot of flats. When we brought our bikes from the parking lot to transtion on Sat, someone said watch out because there were stickers. I carried my bike all the way to the rack. So did many people, but some folks were walking them. Maybe some people got into these.

Also saw quite a few wrecks that were being attended by medical staff. One guy had his arm in a sling, and a few others were bloodied up.

Kudos to those of you that had to deal with this type of adversity and still finished the race. You are true warriors!
