Subject: Worst Race Description

In the Emerald Point thread the topic of accurate race descriptions came up and it got me thinking.  What is the farthest stretch I've seen a race director go when describing part of the course.  We all have noticed that every 10k is "fast" and "the perfect Peachtree qualifier."  I'd have to vote for the description of the run course on the South Carolina HIM.  The website says "A large portion of the course is shaded but the stretch along Hwy 702 is without shade."  Well the unshaded part is the middle part of the out and back course.  So 8 miles of the 13.1 miles is in full sun.  It gave me a chuckle while I was out there with no sun block  on burning up.

Does anyone else have an experience with a misleading course description?

I did a race in PA called Steelman.  The bike was advertised as 80% flat.  The climb out of Transition put me in my granny gear and out of the saddle for a mile.  then you did 2 laps of a course that gave you about 800' of climbing each loop!

Talk about misrepresentation.  :P
