lost wrist watch to Polar A1 hrm.. recommendations ?

I lost my wrist "watch" for my hrm.... admittedly it was several yrs old, and is a bare bones budget model but it worked fine for me. I saw a replacement watch for around $ 15 but I wonder if it would be compatible and/or if it's worth it.

I wouldn't mind a replacement hrm... but budget rite now is very tight. Searched the threads and didn't find a budget recommendation for hrm.
