No bike is going to make anyone significantly faster on the bike leg, especially considering you already have a road bike unless they are going from a mountain or hybrid to a road or tri bike, nd that is just oure physics of rolling resistance that accounts for that. Of course position and fit are key to being able to ride long distances and time, so that should be your key buying point. If he'll let you take it to a shop to look it over and evaluate it, that would be the most beneficial thing you could do. But again, it is not going to make you any faster (unless it motivates you to get out and ride even more). |
