Ok, so now im looking at HR/GPS(?) wristwatches to help me track my training and plus I am going to sign up for the bronze membership so i know i can uppload my training data right onto BT.com which is a big plus.
For someone just getting into tri's which model would be recommended?
I'm looking at the 205, as it is affordable for me and seems like it will do the job.
GPS is not important to me, not as important as an accurate trainer for my wrist.
can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

I thought GPS wasn't important to me, too. I bought a Polar for around $200 I think. And now I *wish* I had GPS.

My advice would be to get GPS the first time out. In time, you'll want it.

If you're looking at Garmin's Forerunner 205, be aware that it doesn't have HRM capability. You would need the 305 for that. Or, if you're looking to squeeze the budget, consider the 301. I'm still using mine after three years, with no complaints.

thanks for the good advice. I guess it's better to rock the GPS first rather than have to upgrade later. I looked at the 301 by Garmin and that looks perfect, has everything i wanted and even has the GPS, all for a price i can probably afford.
BT.com takes all Garmin forerunner products for upload correct? So the 301 would work for me to upload my training data?

Check my logs, nearly all of my outside running and cycling workouts are uploaded from my 301.
