First of all, I wanted to thank you guys for the wonderful job you're doing on this site... Every question in Site Support gets answered in a timely manner - You guys are AWESOME!

Now for my question - Every time I go into my Training Log, a pop-up comes up to ask if I want to be able to import from my Garmin. Sometimes I update my log, go out and do something else, then realize I want to update my log again, and another pop-up comes up... Is there any way to set this value in a cookie or something? These pop-ups get annoying when I see them several times a day - like when I add nutritional info.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.

It drives me nuts too. Unfortunately, there's nothing we at BT can do. It's the Garmin Communicator plugin presenting that popup, not BT code.

Other developers have complained about it on the Garmin Developers forum, and the Garmin people have acknowledged that a change is warranted. They've indicated that they'll probably change it so it only pops up once for a domain name.

When they'll release an update to the Communicator plugin that addresses this is anybody's guess though.

Has anyone tried messing with this variable:

 // ================== Plugin unlock ======================

	/**Unlock plugin when user lands on containing page which may result in security or * plugin-not-installed messages. Set to false to supress plugin acivity * until user initiates an action. * * @type Boolean */ unlockOnPageLoad: true, /**The array of strings that contain the unlock codes for the plugin. * [URL1,KEY1,URL2,KEY2] add as many url/key pairs as you'd like. * @type String[] */
 This option sounds like it would prevent non-Garmin users from being annoyed...

I agree.  I have decided not to buy the next Garmin because of this issue.  Roger

The Good News: I've found a way to address this.

The Bad News: It's going to require pretty much a full re-write of our code that does the importing from the unit, so this isn't something that can be done quickly. Also, we'll still get the popup alert anytime we actually do connect to a unit.

I think your "bad news' isn't so bad.

A) Knowing there's a solution is much better than "there's nothing we can do about it"

B) Seems to me if you connect to the device to the computer, it's a pretty good bet you'd WANT the Garmin Communicator to communicate.

I'm looking at it as the "not quite as good as the good news, but still good... news" Tongue out
