Subject: in-place blog editor
Hi!

When i use the in-place blog editor, i fill in the space to look like

*****
34/42

i apparently am trying to store up sleep for this weekend at Trivia. If only it worked that way...
*****

When i click "ok," my blog entry looks like

*****

*****

It's stripping the line breaks?

Also, the "ok" is a button, but the "cancel" is a link.

FF 3.0.8, XP

Thanks!

Apparently the in-place blog editor also strips out HTML. When i entered information this morning in the old-fashioned way, "Trivia" was a link to http://90fmtrivia.org. Now after having used the in-place editor, the link was stripped out.

I can't reproduce either of these. Both line breaks and links are saving for me.

Can you be more specific? What OS? Which browser/version are you using? Are you using the buttons or HTML view to add the link?

FF 3.0.8, XP......

i typed in the code the old fashioned way in the training log. Later that day i went back to play with the new in-place editor, and it stripped out the link and formatting.

i also bolded a few words using < b> and < /b> in the in-place editor. Clicked okay and everything was okay. Used the in-place editor again, and there were no < /b> or < b>s, and when i clicked okay again, nothing was bolded.

i'll try again tomorrow...

Between pictures one and two, i clicked the "Blog" link and typed. i'm not allowed to end paragraphs in that case. All i get is a single line, and hitting enter is the same as clicking "Ok". i can go back and get a picture of that if you would like.

Between two and three, i clicked "Training" and entered another paragraph there. You can see the space between the two paragraphs.

Between three and four, i clicked "Blog" and typed in a third paragraph between the two that exist in picture three. You can see that i have empty lines (from hitting "Enter") between paragraphs one and two and paragraphs two and three.

Note that the text box entry form for picture four is NOT what appears between pictures one and two. Again, i can go back and get a picture of that if it would help.

Between pictures four and five, i clicked "ok" and got that one giant concatenation.

Again, FF 3.0.8, XP.

Looks like this needs some work for users that don't use the Rich Text Editor.  I'll look into it.

In the mean time, you should consider setting the "Use Rich Text Editor" to TinyMCE.

Well... Someone has to be around to test the in-place editor once you've fiddled with it, right?

i'm not a huge fan of the rich-text editors. i can just use the old way of making entries in my blog.

For what it's worth, a the-same-but-not situation also happens with the new dashboard link on my blog. i'm guessing it's also related to my non-usage of the rich-text editor.

Going to the appropriate place in my settings gets me to a place where i can edit the dashboard inside a rich-text box, presumably without the risk of deleting the "edit' link.
