Subject: In need of OWS practice
I'm looking for a group or someone to swim with in the Everett area.  I just finished Issaquah Tri and about half way through the swim it got really hard to breath.  I think i need more time in open water and with the wetsuit on.  If anyone has any sugestions that would be great.

Yes, practice makes perfect! (Supposedly...) I need OWS time because my tri is still coming up! (Lake Paddon on the 27th.) I live a little north of the city of Lake Stevens.  Lake Stevens, the lake, has various swim beaches and would be a good place to swim.  (One of the swim areas will be the site for the triathlons this year on the lake, and is in a secluded area away from the main lake and the boats.) Company would be nice!  I was going to go out there by myself today, but my sister called and we talked so long, that there was not enough time before my kids got out of school.  Anyway, like the Scouts say, buddy swimming is best! I also am looking for OWS practice -- I live south of Everett & I'm prepping for the 5 mile lake sprint on 6/13.

I swam in Silver Lake Sunday after seeing the route posted on this site, but would like something with fewer turns (though 75yds before turning is much better than a pool).  I'm hoping to build up to an Olympic tri in September, so a longer course would be great.

I swam in Martha Lake once last summer with three others.  It was very nice, but quite a drive for me since I'm up north.

Martha Lake was very calm this morning and not very cold at all-- a few showers & drizzle, but who cares when you're already wet?

Swam 4 times across with Frosty1178 -- decent workout, I put it at a tad less than a mile.

The only thing I noticed was I smelled gasoline until I got to a shower - possibly a result of the first rain in 4 weeks, not sure.  I'll try it again in a couple of weeks & hopefully the smell will be gone.
