Hi - just two quick tips - sign up for the daily email newsletter at trirudy.com - a great resource for finding out about local events, clubs, training events and even for connecting with people for training.  Also www.somersault.ca - producer of the largest tri series in town.  There are a few other races throughout the summer, but this is a good starting point.  They do put on a half-iron race on the labour day weekend.

Can't help with the pool as I am close to downtown myself.  The only one I know of in the south end in Walter Baker Pool in Barrhaven - I think the Nepean Maters club swims there.

Good luck - send a PM if you need any help etc...

I swam with the Nepean Masters for years.  Great group!  They are south-end.

There is a 113 in September - put on by Somersault.  I raced Smiths Falls and Carleton Place years ago - well run, well organized races.
