Expert  735    Chatham, Ontario |  Subject: OWS - June 12 Cedar BeachI was really hopping to join the Leamington bike and run trial run, but I think I should focus in on getting another OWS in this week. So, I was thinking that I will be out at Cedar Beach again at 7:00 pm on Friday (June 12th). Let me know if anyone else would like to join me. Tracey |

Member 22 | Subject: RE: OWS - June 12 Cedar Beach They have 2 events that are a 1.5km and a 3km open water swim. Those particpating in these events only, are not allowed to wear wetsuits. If a wetsuit is worn they do not get an official time. |

Extreme Veteran 744 Ontario | Subject: RE: OWS - June 12 Cedar Beach Wetsuits are allowed for all open water triathlons up to a maximum water temperature, which is 78F I believe. I have never seen a triathlon not allow wetsuits, although I suspect that Steelhead bent the rules a little one year. No race director wants to stick novice swimmers in open water without the safety of wetsuits. I was holding off on committing to the GTG in Leamington on Friday as I injured my knee a little last weekend and I have been resting it. Depending on how it feels tonight I might just do a swim at Cedar Beach. |
