![]() Swim
Comments: Felt really good in the water. No complaints What would you do differently?: Nothing that I can think of. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Felt dizzy. sort of fell down in T1 after wet suit came off. What would you do differently?: not fall down on the cement. ![]() Bike
Comments: Started off a little slow. This guy started cathing me, I could hear him yelling and screaming the whole way. He passed me, still yelling and screaming. He was having fun. I caught back up with him and said "alright buddy, you motivated me, now lets go." Well, I passed him, and never saw him again. Bill started 3 minutes behind me in the old guy wave, so I new he'd catch me at some point. I saw him about 1 minutes after the turn around (out and back course). My plan was to pick it up a little bit and stay with him for a few miles. That was a great idea, however, not possible. He was gone. What would you do differently?: I think if my Garmin was working, I could have been a little faster. I never new how fast I was going. ![]() Transition 2
![]() Run
Comments: This is where no Garmin killed me. I never had any idea of my pace. turns out I ran this 4.8 miles at my 25k pace. I should be able to do it much faster. I also didn't know how much farther to go to the finish. I could have picked it up quite a bit earlier and broken 2 hours. What would you do differently?: charge the garmin, run faster. 16 out of 21? Are you f'in kidding me? I think my knees must have gotten caught on my skirt. ![]() Post race

Woke up at 4:30. Made some coffee and an English Muffin with PB. Put the sleeping little one in the car, and were off. On the road by 5:15. Got a little lost heading to the race. So first, we get stuck at a train crossing for about 5 minutes. The good news, there are 6 other cars with bikes on the back waiting for the train. I can follow them when we start moving.
The bad news, they are heading to the MS 150, a 150 mile bike ride, not the lake Mac tri. drove out of our way for about 5 minutes before I figured that out.
Was able to rack my bike next to Bill. That helped. Got the pre race jitters down to a minimum. Didn't do much warm up though.
Noticed my Garmin was dying. No batteries. Shit! No speed for bike or pace for run. That will be a problem.
