Does someone make a combo pedal that is a clip in on one side and a "standard" pedal (for sneakers) on the other?  I think I've seen spin bikes with these, but I was wondering if you could get them for actual bikes.

I know they make them for regular bikes since a friend has them on his MTB. However beyond that I'm not much use.

Yes, most of the major online retailers have them.

Thanks!  I've found several on Nashbar and now Performance Bike (thanks Bear) but they all seem to be SPD only.  Has anyone ever even SEEN a combo pedal with a Look cleat?

You'll only find SPD-style combo pedals, unfortunately. The cleat design limits pedal options. I flat-shoe my LOOK pedals when I ride to work.

0006, yes i have actually. one of my neighbors bought an ancient spin bike, that he is planning on fixing, a couple of weeks ago. i was looking at the pedals, and it had a pair of spd/look style cleat combo pedals. on the look side, there were cages clipped in, and the other side were spds. so they do exist, but they're probably not made anymore

edit to say: he bought the bike locally, and you might be able to talk to the guy about it since you live in the dfw area, and possibly pick up a pair or a whole spin bike. pm me if you want contact info

I got the Shimano M324 SPD Pedals on ebay for $30.  Great for my mountain bike as it is more of a bike trailer/vacation bike than an mountain bike.  But if I wanna take it out, I can clip in.

FYI - These pedals are heavy as sh1t.

There are also adapters that you can snap into clipless pedals to turn them into platforms, but I think these are also only made for SPD pedals

I have the Nashbar Rodeo pedals on my mtn bike. They clip in an out pretty well, and I haven't gone flying out of them. Unfortunately, they are quite heavy - ok for a intro level bike, but definitely a nogo on a road bike. Also, I'm not sure about the longevity of the clip in mechanism - there's a small spring in there.

If you'll be training/riding seriously, I'll bet it would be better and more cost effective to go with a "real" dedicated cleat.
