Subject: Wetsuit nick...argh!!!!
I just got a new wetsut about 3 months ago, and only swam three times in the ocean and once in the pool, and I got a nick. It looks like it was probably caused by my nail when I was trying to pull up the leg portion because it's on the inside of my leg area, not on the outside, where I could have scraped something.

I just used some shoe goo which was recommended by slowtwitch and it seems to have done the trick.

Hey I feel your pain.  Wetsuit nicks suck, esp. on a new suit.

Be alas, fear not.  You've done the right thing (rubber cement works well too) and it will last for a LONG time.

As a point of reference.  I have a 1993 QR shortie wetsuit and, seriously, about 20 fingernail nicks in it.  They are all sealed and cause me no problems!

Now, if you've got a tear the length of your palm....then perhaps you may have to worry.

I think the first one is always the worse. Just like your first ding on your new car or stratch on your new bike. But at least I'll know it may last 20 nicks and around 12 years later
