Well, I finished my first tri yesterday (Webster Lake - a sprint - 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 2.8 mile run), and I had a blast!!

I discovered that I am currently incapable of swimming in a straight line.  At one point I popped my head up and asked the lifeguard, "Where exactly am I supposed to be going?"  She asked if I needed help, and I said, "No, I just need to learn how to swim straight!"

The bike was fabulous and I met my time goal (I've spent the past ten years as an avid recreational cyclist), and I was able to run a PR pace but believe me, I didn't set any land speed records!

I was hoping to finish in 1:30 or less and pulled off a 1:24:47, good enough for 8th in my AG!

Swim: 16:20
T1: 4:57 (it was about 1/4 mile from the beach to the racks)
Bike: 38:11 (22nd out of 184 women!)
T2: 2:20 (I have no idea what took so long - I swear I didn't stop for a beer in T2!)
Run: 22:56

This journey has been so wonderful, and is made all the more so by the people on this website.  Thanks to everyone who has given such great advice and shared their experiences!  Here's to many more triathlons!
