Anybody else starting to freak about this coming weekend???

I'm just doing an itty bitty pool swim sprint and I was tossing and turning last night because I don't feel as prepared as I did for my first race.  Not a training issue just a ducks in a row issue.

Actually I think I'm freaking about Bridgeland even more..... I'm skeered!

This is for fun..... this is for fun...... this is for fun...... this is for fun.....

LOL, I feel the same way Keri!  I feel like I was over-prepared last time and not quite as prepared this time.  I don't feel like I have trained any less, so I'm not sure why I am feeling this way.  Maybe it's because it's the 1st race we've done with a pool swim???  Plus, my week is a crazy one this week, which means I won't do my usual pre-race training this week, so that has me all thrown off.

The one person I knew who was doing the Sugarland race is injured and not doing it afterall.  Now I am wishing I had signed up for the Pearland race, because I have to drive all the way to Sugarland just to pick up my race packet!  Grrrr.....

It's in Independent Park near the High School.

Keri, I'm sure you will be fine. Today I was actually wondering if they were still open to registration and was thinking about joining you. But they are full. So I will just be a spectator.

Go get em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Independence park and we should definitely meet up - maybe even take a pic for BT Laughing

I will be wearing a one piece black tri suit (in my avi) - Oh and I will have 5 kids in tow Smile

Christy - You are going to be just fine girl.  I am pretty sure our distances are the same.  I have to admit though I am worried about the heat - I ran outside today, only 3 miles and it totally kicked my azz!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Keri!  I know we will both get through this just fine - heat and all!  (Although I am not looking forward to the run at all because of the heat!)

I am sure you will do great.  Just pack every thing tonight and re-check it tomorrow...I think I rechecked my bag at least 10 times.  LOL!

I'm better today than I was Wednesday.  We'll see how I feel after packet pick up today.
I found my race belt last night so that's good news.  I have to admit though I am a bit worried about nutrition.  I drank gatorade on a 20 mile ride the other night and was totally sloshy on the run.  I need to remember to drink at the beginning of the ride and then stop.

I know one of the photogs at Sugarland Christy so smile pretty!!!
What are your nutrition plans?

I may start with my usual 1/2 PB&J once I have transition set up.  Then a gu before the bike?  I haven't been experimenting too much with nutrition on my bricks, so I'm not sure.  I'll definitely have some gatorade real quick before I leave T1...especially since I suck at drinking and cycling.  Laughing

The three of you are going to be fun (spoken like a true spectator). Just try to relax and have fun. When I wrestled in college prior to 'big' matches my stomach would be in knots. At that point you just need to step back, breathe, and let your training take over.

Be positive and confident in yourself and all the rest will fall into place.

Actually really well though I didn't eat great yesterday.Undecided  I decided not to pack up last night and wait until today.  I slept great last night!  Not sure if it's because I didn't pack up and therefor wasn't really focussed on the race but I got to sleep until 8 this morning which is VERY rare Smile

Everyone post your race numbers ---- #251 here

Yeah I hear ya on not eating well.  I broke down and had a butterfinger blast from Sonic at like 11pm last night!  I am in the process of laying out my stuff and cleaning my bike right now.  I try and save all the prep for the last day so I can keep myself busy.  Otherwise I go crazy sitting around thinking about the race.

Look for bib # 99 tomorrow, that's me!
