I had a 2008 specialized transition comp that had a cracked frame.  I took it to the LBS and he ordered me a new one and asked what color I would like to have.  He handed me the book and I ordered the white replacement which to my knowledge is the expert.

I called him and asked which frame he was able to get and he said that he was able to get the white frame.  Does this mean that I will now have an expert instead of a comp and if so are the frames the same?

From what I understand the frames are the same. The groupset and Color are what's different. But I'm no expert.

If you kept your black and yellow components, it's still a Comp. Only real difference between the two is Comp is 105/Ultegra; Expert is 105/Ultegra/DA.
