Danskin Webster Lake : Official Thread

Sounds like my kind of gathering, but I am working until 6, what time is this happening?

6pm. We are meeting in the bowling alley parking lot. The group missed you the last couple of get togethers!!!!

I'm with Seth, I like the sounds of this gathering!  Pending when I get out of work, I will try to join you!  I'll bring my bike/wetsuit with me to work and give you a call Marianne to let you know either way.

FYI...my mentor group will also be there. MOST are newbies. I ride with them and I am last. They are also pretty new at swimming. We were all there once

How big is the crowd for Danskin?  I liked the Webster Lake Tri course a lot.

I have to work until 6 but maybe I'll bring my stiff with me? I work like 15 mins from there and only live like a mile away.Jon if you want to start late depending on when you get out of work that would work! You still havemy number?

I might join you Friday.  This is my 1st tri and I was in webster lake today.  I am a little freaked out by the ows...the distance looks intimidating and the gunk on the bottom is creepy but I need to get over it....maybe more people around will help.  I have a tri 2 weeks before danskin as a prep w/ 1/4 mile swim so I gotta get going.  I do a mile in the pool no problem but I am finding the ow less relaxing and more anxiety provoking.

I went for a short run today, then had some Wendy's for dinner. It was delicious!

well, it's 7/1 so i missed your get together on friday; that's too bad. i have no idea where webster is but i'm confident google will get me there on the 25th maybe we will get a chance to meet before then.

this is my 1st Danskin Tri and in fact, it's my 1st ever so i'm a bit freaked about the whole thing.  i'm not really one to participate in competitions but something came over me that made me do it.  i've been training somewhat diligently for several months but i'm always questioning whether or not it's enough and my swim is very weak.  i'm hoping that i don't stress thru the swim so i have the energy to finish the event.

where do you live? I'm in Webster and I think a training partner would give me some motivation to stop being a slacker!

did 3/4 a mile in webster lake today...I couldn't keep my face in for the whole distance (get anxious looking at the crud in the water) but I completed it  My 1st tri  this sunday is Black fly in NH.  The water is a balmy 54!  ...makes webster lake seem like a sauna.  We'll see how it goes
