I need to get a room for the Redman IM in September. Host hotel seems reasonable, but wondering if anybody that has been there has any other recommendations?

I stayed at the host hotel (Marriot) last year and it was nice except that half the elevators were broken. There are several other hotels at the same exit (all very close to the race site). I'm going Extended Stay this year for half the price.

Country Inn and Suites.  Right next door to the Marriot and cheaper with free breakfast and internet.  As said in above post, elevators in Marriot were broken last year so we switched hotels when we got there.

Yep there are tons of hotels in the area. I know that orbitz has a map function where you can enter an address and it will list the hotels based on distance from that address.

Thanks everyone. I'll look into some of those nearby hotels and try to save some dollars. That way I can buy more cool tri stuff

Courtyard by Marriott on NW Expressway I believe was where I stayed last year.  Very nice, pretty convenient.  Right down from the host hotel (maybe a tad cheaper) and close to stores/Target etc.

UUUGH I totally forgot about that! They made you go to a service elevator which was waaaay out of the way and seemed to lack air conditioning?! And then you had to weave your way around and INSIDE the kitchen area! With your bike! It was awful awful awful. HUNDREDS of athletes and their families trying to get bikes and gear in and out of a hotel with no elevator. I complained heavily and asked for a partial refund becuase I was clearly not getting what I paid for. They refused to give any type of compensation. Booooo.

I'll be watching this thread for viable alternatives!

The Country Inn and Suites does seem like the best option. Free breakfast and internet is always nice. Open to sharing room if anybody interested - just send PM.

Thanks,
JD
