Total Time = 33m
Overall Rank = 318/441
Age Group = 30-39 Male
Age Group Rank = 41/44
Pre-race routine:

Woke up and had some breakfast this morning before heading over to the race site.
Event warmup:

Took a lap around the schools track and then did some streaching before walking to the start line after regestering for the race.
Run
  • 33m
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 36s  min/km
Comments:

Did a fast walk on most of the course. doign this kept my heart rate between 125-135 bpm. I hope to get into better condition so that I will be able to keep the heart rate down and still be able to run more time.
What would you do differently?:

Well one thing I would do diferently is not have a session with a personal trainer the day before the event so that I don't where myself out. I was still sore from the workout yesterday when I did todays race.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around the the finsh area and get some refeshments before heading back out to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being in enough condition before the race, also being sore from yesterdays workout with a personal trainer.

Event comments:

this being my first race, and not staying for any of the after race events to be able to judge the event for an over all rating.

Ok, I put the numbers that are on the race results, but I am not sure that they are correct.  I was sure that I was about 10 minutes longer then given in these results.  They also have the results listed as the next weekend from when the race was held.  I don't know, it was my first 5K and only to this date.  Maybe next time I can get a better lean on the results.

Hey, don't complain if they made you faster!

Seriously, doesn't matter what the time was--congrats on doing your first 5k.  And hopefully it's the launching pad for even bigger & better things to come!

True, they did shave my time.

Thanks for the congrats, and you are right, hopefully it is the first of many more events.  My big event being the Philly Tri in June.
