I personally recommend the top 2 - I've had some bad experiences as have fellow triathletes at SBR... although if you are spending a great deal of $$$ they seem to be nicer to you.

I'll agree with Michelle about SBR, the service can range from atrocious to decent. I lucked out the last time I went and got a pretty helpful guy. I will say for wetsuit shopping they are unrivaled. I love JackRabbit but their selection is slim. I bought a Helix at SBR and being that it's a pricey suit, I really wanted to be sure it was right for me. They let me try on the demo suit and get in the endless pool for a swim, which I thought was great. I'm not sure I could have confidently bought the suit without the trial.

Pools to consider - not knowing where you are staying or their guest policies - Asphalt Green, Riverbank State Park (public, but way uptown), John Jay College, Borough of Manhattan Community College, McBurney Y (14th st, west), 14th St Y (east village).
