Subject: RE: bandit's bike course harder than over the mountain?e5earnst - 2009-07-06 9:34 AM
New to both courses. I was very undertrained for OTM and had to ride smart. It paid on the run. Hoping to drop 10 to 15 minutes from my OTM time (overall). Not sure if that is doable. I was told that Bandit's doesn't sell out for a reason.
See you out there.
I did both last year. I found the Bandit's bike course a bit easier, but that may have been that I learned some things about hill strategy at OTM and that helped me at Bandits. (namely, go harder up, and easier down, which is opposite of what I was doing! ). The run however at Bandits is a complete killer, way way harder than OTM. I would not expect to cut time off. I had a much better race at Bandits, yet my time was 4 minutes slower! Make it a goal to move up your rank within your age group instead.
