Subject: Stress Fracture? Shin Splints? Compartment Syndrome?Hey all! I have a question and mostly I know that I should go in and see someone - but I don't want the answer if it's bad ... and otherwise I don't know what I should be expecting... I fell about 4 weeks back and smashed my shin off my pedal. It swelled up pretty good and I still have quite a "bump" under the skin right on the bone. This however doesn't hurt much when I press on it. I also have problems with shin splints and I haven't been running with my orthodics because they've been bothering me... So now I'm to the point where it aches all the time. Sometimes it's just tingly and sometimes it really hurts. I haven't run since last Saturday because I'm kinda worried. If I push on the inside of my tibia about half-way between my ankle and my knee it hurts, but it doesn't hurt when I stretch it or push anywhere else. It does hurt to run - but it goes away. I know ... go in and have an x-ray and bone scan.... |
