Who's in? I'll be there.

The 4th Annual 2009 Mudwater Triathlon and Duathlon will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Lake Afton. Due to 2008's overwhelming response and positive feedback, 2009 race registration limit will be limited due to available space at the venue. DG Road racing of Oklahoma City will be doing the chip timing again in 2009.

Tom (climbin5414) is doing it, too. It's a fun little race. Completely FLAT!

No joke! I waited til the last possible minute... signed up the afternoon before it was closed.

Stoked that they lengthened the bike course to 25k this year!

For locals... there is a group from the Kansas River Valley Tri Club doing a run-through of the entire course tomorrow night (7/14) at 6 p.m. if anyone is interested!

Yup on the way back in you should be able to stand up in most places if you really need do.

FYI they are changing the swim course a little from last year - that first "out" portion is going to be longer. The RD took my suggestion because last year (at least in the womenz wave) it was a hot mess because that out portion was only a few hundred yards and NO ONE would spread out. Everyone bee-lined to the first bouey and would NOT budge or get out of anyone's way. Waaaaay too much contact for a 200-person sprint! It was worse than any 70.3 start I've done! Hopefully this change will fix the issue.

Some guy freaked out on me because I kept making contact... tried to use me like I was a pool wall. Didn't really have a choice... "Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am, stuck in the middle with you..."

Weather is looking AMAZING for tomorrow!
Race-time temp looks to be between 60-70 degrees, SUNNY with 8mph winds at the most.

my thoughts on mudwater 2009 courtesy of spongebob: "I taught (him) a lesson he shan't soon forget: I engraved it on his pain gland."

i'm definitely going to feel this for a few days.

liked the new slightly longer bike... hated my sighting on the swim. don't know how you can get off course so bad on a swim that follows the shore line.

looking forward to next year.
