I am really struggling with a good pair of goggles for my open water swim in August. My two current pairs both leak and fog up really quickly. I have tried all adjustments and they stink. Any recommendations?
Finding the right pair can take some time. I'd suggest going to Sports Authority or Dicks Sporting goods and trying some one. If you can just put the goggles on without the strap and get suction over your eyes for a second than you found your pair. If they don't work out just return them and try again. Personally Speedo Vanquishers work great for me. I tried a couple of other brands first but they didn't work out for the same reasons you give.
It may sound stupid but if you have a small face (like my wife) you might have to drop down to a pair of junior size goggles. If was the only way she could get a good fit.
I struggle with this as well. what has worked best for me is the Aqua Sphere Vista as they are a 1-piece mask type. You get a solid suction and a great field of vision. I also use Speedo anti-fog spray which works pretty well.
Just like the other post suggests-go to a store and try them all on.
Thanks everyone. I took all of your suggestions and found an awsome pair. Had a terrible experience at the sports store, but the perfect pair nonetheless. Oh...and I did have to go down to Juniors. That seemed to do the trick. Ended up with Speedo Hydralux. Love them...
