Subject: How tight should a tri jersey be?
I ordered a De Soto Men's Carrera Tri Jersey and a De Soto Men's Forza Tri Short in L from TriSports.com.  I ordered the XL jersey because I have a larger upper body and the L shorts because my cycling bibs are L's and fit well.  The shorts fit great but the jersey seems a little loose.

My question is: How tight should a tri jersey be?  This XL isn't baggy but it's not tight.  Should I be going for the L?

Also, the tri jersey is kinda long if I put it all the way down.  Am I supposed to tuck it into the shorts, pull it all the way down or just pull it to my waste and let it get messy?

Maybe I thinned out more than I thought. Cool

In my experience, Tri clothing gets bigger when wet.  If the XL is baggy on you dry-go for the L.

You want your tri top tight enough that it won't cause drag if you were to swim in it w/out a wetsuit.  If it fits right, your won't need to tuck it in because it won't be messy at the bottom.

I have the women's Carrera top and it is snug.. so snug that it is actually a little difficult to get off once I have it on!  I feel like I am going to pop my shoulder out trying to get it over my head to take it off!!

Pretty stupid when considering the sport, but I still don't feel comfortable wearing tight clothing... let alone when the public eye is on you. Funny what you ordered... 2 days before you did I actually ordered from De Soto's an XL tri top and L shorts. They arrive on Friday.

Let me know how that works out.  My XL jersey went back to TriSports.com the same day I got it.  I'd rather deal with a tighter jersey than think that it's dragging in the water during my swim.

Tight enough to not cause drag but not so tight that it is uncomfortable.
