Big Shark New Twon Traithlon : Official Thread

I don't think New Town is a full oly distance? Isn't the run only 4miles? Iron Abe is the next weekend in Springfield, IL. There is also one in Mattoon, IL or somewhere up that way in September (I think Labor Day weekend). Not really in the "area" but close enough!

New Town definitely is not full Oly...but it's the longest I've done this year so I was hoping to "graduate" to a local Olympic event sometime late summer. Bummer that the others are farther away - it kills me to spend $$ on a hotel when I'm the only one staying in it! Need to meet more triathletes!

I'll be there this weekend too, but in a volunteer capacity.  I'm hoping to do this one next year so thought it would be a good way to check it out.  I'll be working registration and chip removal.   See you there!

How was it? I looked at the results, it seemed like the competition was really high out there this morning!

ho-lee crap! i guess when you combine MO/IL's finest triathletes with perfect weather and a perfectly flat course, you see some insanely fast times. i'll throw my race report up soon but there were PLENTY of quick legs out there.
