Subject: HALF TRI vs. XTERRA Cup
I just recently completed both a half distance tri and three weeks later an Xterra cup race.

Comparing those two races the Xterra was harder both mentally and physically. Although the weather for the Xterra was considerably hotter.

Has anyone else made the same comparison or was the hot weather that big of a factor??

Heat makes a big distance.

Plus, if this was a half tri, you stopped after the swim and half the bike, right?
Cool

an xterra regional cup race should take longer to complete than an olympic distance tri (according to the pro finishing times, some of them are olympians), so if your'e comparing a sprint tri to a sport length race at an xterra cup, you're comparing two differnet lengths of races.  (and the xterra sport length is a little bit longer than most of the sprints I see advertised)

When I was racing the XTERRA West cup earlier this year I heard: "If it was easy, they'd call it Ironman."
