It's race week.  Who's in?

I'll be there.  Look for the bald guy with a Texas Triple Threat tri top gasping for breath.

I'll be there... you cant miss the dragon tattoo on my back, look for me near the back of the ambulance sucking on some oxygen after getting pummeled by the majority of the field.

Thank you!  I forgot also.  Just came back from picking it up.  Luckily, I work about 2 miles away from RBM and live 1 mile away from Cooper.

They filled up the race at 500 people!

Thank goodness for this thread! I have done all these running races that let you pick up the day of the race... I completely forgot that I needed to do this!

I got my packet though... #23. Awesome! Of course that means I'll get passed constantly on the bike and run. HA!

I'm in.....and picking up packet tomorrow, so I'll re-post or edit to let you know my number.

I've been slacking off on the training but got in a good swim and brick last week.

Anyone know the bike route this year?

Link to Cooper's website.  There's a pdf file with both the run course and the bike course there.

500 people?? Wow that's a lot for a pool swim...whoever is #500 better bring a lawn chair. Ok, so then I'm mostly only halfway back in the swim, but I really think I should be more like 3/4 of the way back so I hope those people put realistic times and aren't trying to swim over me the whole way!

#260 here, I went way conservative on the swim time with a 7:20 (normal swim time is 1:50-1:55 per 100), thinking this is only my 2nd tri and I dont want to slow others down, but it appears I should probably put down something more accurate next time. My first tri, I just put slow, and ended up passing ~15 near drownings. Oh well, next time...

I'm just wondering how chaotic the bike course will be! With two loops for 13 miles... it will be madness. I'm taking the road bike so I can feel secure having to move around people and what not.

Wow, you put down 7:20 and are only halfway back? What did #500 put down, an hour?

I'm #147.  I was flabbergasted when I saw the number.  I put down 6'23" for the swim time (should be accurate based on tt swim last month then subtracted two seconds).

There is one turn around that (I'm guessing) will be a mess.  It's a circle at the end of what should be a residential road (no houses yet).  It's going to be kinda tight.  The other turn around is going from a two lane street to another two lane street go the opposite direction.

Should be fun.

A lot of times people who sign up last minute don't get to put a swim time and just get put at the back of the line. This can lead to some really fast people going really late. The Cooper pool is a 50m pool though with 1 way traffic down each lane so there should be plenty of room to pass if need be.

That's the same bike course as last year....with all those crazy turns, etc. I was hoping that they'd have a two loop down to custer back to stacey (or to alma then north for a bit).....I didn't like this course last year......

and the run seemed that it was a steady up hill (maybe that was because I was out of shape).

I'm #81......(I put 5:45 for my time) I'm going to get passed by a few but I'm a better swimmer than I was last year and I did 6:30. Hopefully I didn't overshoot.

I'll have a black/blue/silver tri-suit on and riding a red/black Fuji Aloha.....stop by and say hi. I'd love to meet y'all. At least slap me on the butt when you pass me on the bike or run (girls only.....the dudes can just say Hi).

See y'all tomorrow and good luck. Should be a fun one.

Where are y'all putting your bike number?  The holes closest to the fold are so close to the fold it's confusing me.  I can't find anywhere where it will easily fit and still be seen.

HA....I stared at the number....then my bike....then the number. I kept thinking, I'm smarter than this and I've done this before.

I finally folded over my bar and used tape to hold it together.
