HI,

I'm looking for a new gastroenterologist that has some idea what to do with an endurance athlete with ulcerative colitis, especially with nutrition.  Someone who looks at the whole person, not just the colon and throws pills (that will eventually kill your liver) at you.  I was doing OK, but recently been having some trouble and I'm no longer satisfied with my current care.

Any suggestions, even alternative views/ docs, are welcome.

Thanks!

If you're willing to explore alternative options, I have a fabulous doctor who does eastern medicine treatments.  She is officially a chiropractor but she does all sorts of alternative treatments.  I used to have exercise induced asthma plus nasty allergies but through a combination of accupuncture and NAET, I no longer take any medicines for either condition.  She's treated my mom for IBS with good success.  Her website is:  www.chiropractorchicago.net and she is located on Erie near Northwestern Hospital.  Feel free to PM me with any questions as well.

Good luck with your search!
