Subject: New Here
I have been using the loggin system here for a couple of weeks and never really got into the forums. But With my friend soupaman talking about these forum threads, I thought i would take this time to introduce myself.

I am a web developer my trade and profession, but am stuck working for a News paper (which will remain nameless) and got bamboozled to move from NY to FL.

I was never into working out or doing any kind of activity in NY, but being here in Florida, its just such a different environment that I decided to join Soupaman and begin working out...now I'm even swimming, which if you would have told me that last year, I would have probably told you you were crazy or cursed or something.

I am still trying to overcome some lazyness in doing workouts and such, but hopefully seeing myself more fit and in better health can motivate me to keep going.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am 5'8 and currently about 225. i was 235-237 before i started...so its not too bad, but still need to find the right niche of diet and excercise.

Thanks,

At this time, I really do not have any goals but to lose soem weight and get healthier. I really do need to quit smoking. It was really hard at first to swim with the smoking...now its not that bad, but the running is still an ordeal.

And thats tyson on my icon. I have some tatoos, maybe i will take a picture of it and post it as my icon... thanks for the welcome.

Richblast,

Welcome my friend. And I certainly identify with you. I almost got bamboozled to move from beautiful Colorado to hot muggy Florida to work for a newspaper who shall remain nameless. But ahh! the Rockies proved too wonderful.

Good luck training and keep on swimming!

Hang in there Rich.  Fitness takes effort applied over time but the end result can be amazing.  Put some big long term goals out there and then start chipping away at them.
